Alright guys, the Sky is totaled. The wreck did surprisingly little frame damage considering, but enough to put it over the edge. I prefer it this way because I certainly didn't want a car back after that level of damage. RIP little guy, you held up well.
Anyways, on to the future. I'm looking this time around to get a four seat car, sedan or coupe is fine. I would like to avoid downgrading performance wise and it's not that hard to have a nicer interior than the Sky. I try to avoid being a badge snob, but it does play a role now that I've started having to ferry clients around more often, and those things matter.
Obviously, the CTS-V is the most blatant choice, and while a 2009 is within the price I want to spend, it's on the bleeding edge. So I want to make sure and at least consider alternatives. I obviously do not mind used cars but I'd like to stay current or close to current body style, for example the E61 and F10 5 series are reasonably close looks wise. I want to stay between $35,000 and $45,000, but obviously lower is better. I'm trying to avoid cars with more than 35k miles except Mercedes because I can get it certified. I do not mind high maintenance costs, I do most of it on my own and/or get it at cost.
I will most likely purchase this car wholesale from a dealer's auction within the next 60 days, so I'm looking for a make/model/year/options, not an exact car unless there is a stellar deal. As previously stated, Mercedes is a big plus because I can get them certified. While I care about performance, if the right car/deal is there, I would consider purchasing it and a motorcycle or a weekend car later this year.
Thanks guys!
