New Car Purchase Question

Hi

Dealer transfer of about 80 miles to get this new 06 model to me. The salesman found it over the dealer network. Prior to authorizing the pickup, I nagged at the dealer to find out the details (any damage, mileage) and he was like, yea it's all good etc. None of the prior negotiations said anything bout a pinstripe and the dealer said it didn't know until it the guys drove out there to pick it up and bring it back. They brought it back and told me I can have the pinstripe at no charge, or they could remove it. The pinstripe, they said, would be "aftermarket" and wouldn't be part of the new car warranty 3y/36k. (5 year corrosion coverage is on the body.)

I am thinking I will have it removed since I have no idea of quality of dealer that installed it (supposedly at their dealership). Your thoughts on pinstripe? My worry is that at some point before the warranty the pinstripe would bubble, fade, etc and I'd be SOL under the warranty. Dealer said all it would take to remove it is like a blow dryer and comes up easily. Plus if they take it off and 'fudge' up the paint, that's on them.

Availability is pretty limited for this make model and options, so even if passed, next dealership transfer is another @120 miles out. I don't know how good/ugly it looks yet, since I have to inspect it this evening, but any thoughts on the pinstripe? Does it last, remove it, etc? Is it common to have pinstripe problems?
Thx!

Update:
They looked OK so I went with it. Thx for input!

It depends on the stripe-type/color and the color of the vehicle. A good friend of mine just purchased an '06 F-150 that is black with a silver pinstripe. I think it looks pretty good.

Here's a pic of it:

as others said it really depends on the car and how they did it. it might look great or it might look like crap. cant decide until you look at it.

the whole truck...the pinstripe and bed...look...crooked...

Remove it now or never remove it. Even if it's been on for a few months and you remove it, you'll always be able to see where the stripe was on the paint. Not many newer cars look good with pinstripes.
