New car deck won't work

Bought a new pioneer DEH-X6900BT for my 01 honda civic. Wired up the harness, plugged it in, turned the key to acc and got nothing. I've already previously installed 2 decks in this same car with no problems. I rechecked all the connections on the harness, even disconnected them and rewired them, still nothing. Wondering if it was just a bad deck I tried it out in my girlfriends car and it actually worked. Tried her deck in my car and it didn't work either so I'm assuming its something wrong with my car. I've checked the fuses, made sure there was electricity to the harness with a volt meter(which there was), tried grounding it on the chassis all to no avail. My last deck worked fine, just wanted to upgrade to one with bluetooth. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

if you have tested that you have proper ground and that yellow gives you 12v+ and switched on (usually red) is 12v+ when key is on, then I would recheck the harness wiring to the factory plug.

Also, make sure you get your airbags replaced in that vehicle due to the recall.

The old did work before I took it out but I'd have to switch back to that ones harness if I want to see if its working right now.

Just checked the red with the key on and there was 12v. I'm really at a loss because all the wires are matched up correctly. I even cut all the ends off and restripped them and put them back together. Still nothing. Is it possible for the new decks part of the harness that plugs into the back of the deck to not be making a connection to the pins of the deck?

I recently just got the airbag recall done, thanks!

To clarify, you verified you have 12v on yellow, 12v on red with key on, and that black is properly grounded?

If that were the case, I wouldn't expect it to work in any other cars.

That is correct. I checked where the car harness and radio harness wires meet. I tried testing where the deck harness meets the back of the deck but I'm not really sure how to go about doing that since my volt tester leads are to wide to fit in the tiny holes. I was really surprised that it worked in my girlfriends car too.

Do you have any spare wire or test leads? I would try running direct from a 12v source to the red/yellow wires (obviously ground the black one) and see if you can get it to power up manually. You could accomplish this by connecting test leads from the black wire to the negative terminal of the battery, and then from the positive terminal of the battery to the red/yellow wires.

I took some spare wire and stuck them in the yellow and black wire holes of the harness making sure it was making contact and tested with a volt meter and got nothing. Hooked it up to the red and black wire holes with the key turned to acc and got 12v. So I'm assuming there's something wrong with the yellow wire connection in the harness. Kinda would suck to have to take the whole deck back out of the assembly and box it back up to exchange it just because of the harness. Is there anything I can do to try and fix it or somewhere I can purchase a same model replacement pioneer deck harness?

Thanks for all the help so far!
