Hey, I need an opinion here. Is the market ripe for a new car company? Is there a missing niche market right now that could use a new entry? If you were going to start making cars for a living, what would they look like? Who would you sell them to?
 
the market is saturated by too many auto makers. You need what spooner said, a different automobile that grabs attention.
 
Because of gas prices, we need another gas alternative vehicle.

Hybrids are expensive, high maintenance and don't offer as much mileage as the auto makers promise.

Over in Pinellas county, they sell this electric car that's only $7000. They're ALWAYS sold out and that's despite the fact that they look like a golf cart (only more "car" than "cart") and can only go 35 MPH.

How about a hybrid electric car that does 60 MPH? Battery and a very small engine like a 100CC. It doesn't have to be big. Just a two seater grocery getter. Something between a motorcycle and a car. 😉

No, I'm actually going to DO this. I'm a mechanical engineering research assistant right now, but by the time I'm out of here, I hope to have plans in hand to look for investors.

How about the everyman's Ferrari, only running a four-banger? Lotus tries to make a car that gets its performance from light weight, but I see areas where I could outdo them. I want a car that looks like it costs $200 000, yet costs less than $20 000
