well, not really new, dug the old canon AE-1 program out of storage. the battery from the flash leaked all over it, but after a good cleaning the mirror flips fine and it adjusts the aperature

my roommate just got a <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=40&threadid=1531486&en
erthread=y">new canon sd110</a>. so far i've made 2 people get these.

Ah the good old days.

I had a black AE-1 (non program) with a broken light meter as my first camera. I loved that thing. Having a broken light meter really helped me learn about shutter speeds and aperatures in that I had to calculate everything in my head and make a best guess.

aha - another AE-1 owner.. I have two, I have one always loaded with BW and the other color... I have a bunch of lenses that I share between the two...
 on a great classic camera. I still get better results with the AE-1 than I've ever gotten with my digicam.
