Good Morning!

My small business needs to upgrade our computers. Most of our work is done in the cloud, but MS office suite is also used.

I would like a quick processor (I'm partial to AMD, but not important). I believe ram is important to maintain speed. Future-proofing is important as well.

My questions are: What is the minimum processor that I could buy to get above average performance? Which processor would give me the most bang for the buck? Any suggestions on a pre-built system? What about SystemMax by tigerdirect?

Thanks for your advice.

Jason!

With the way computers are now and with more and more of the computing happening in the cload any OEM system will last you several years. The key thing is what applications you have to run. Since Office seams to be all you really need then any current dual core system with 4GB of RAM and a 64 bit OS will do.

If you need business-class support, then Dell or HP would be the way to go IMO. Can you define what you mean by "future-proofing?" You want to upgrade cpu/ram in the future? Anything else? How many systems are you looking at? You can likely get quantity discounts through a major OEM business sales rep.
