New Built - Want to burn-in and OC

Hi everyone,
I just built a computer, it has the followings:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 512K 2.4 GHz (939) 90nm Retail
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
CORSAIR VALUE SELECT DUAL 1024MB PC3200 DDR CAS2.5 2X512MB
BFG 6800 GT 256MB Graphics Card
SEAGATE BARRACUDA 7200.7 200GB SATA
NEC ND-3520A DVD+Rw
Cooler Master Wave Master (TAC-T01-E1C)
Antec TruePower 480W Dual Fan

Stock CPU fan, On-Board Sound, old speakers, keyboard and mouse

1. How do I burn-in? Which programs to use?
2. How much can I overclock with stock fan, typically?
3. What is the chipset the MB use? Can I use ClockGen?
4. What is the IC the Video Card use? How do I find its current clock speed and adjust it?
5. What benchmark software do you use to benchmark the system?

I still have more questions, but I will try 5 for now. Thank you very much in advance!
Regards,

1. burn in is not necessary. just use normally. use any programs you want.

2. not a whole lot. anyway, why overclock? it just destroys your CPU and you will not see any difference.

3. the mb manual should tell you what the chipset is.

4. the video card should not be adjusted

5. who cares what benchmarks say? does it do things faster than your previous computer? if so, then it's faster.

Overclocking is just plain silly. The reason people usually overclock is because they have too much money or they are pimply faced teenagers who have absolutely no social life, or many times both.

You might be starting a war here... anyway, I want to burn-in because I want to make sure the computer is built properly. This goes the same as the benchmark as to make sure I get what I paid for. I like to overlock it a bit to get some more juice. If the CPU die in 5 years, I would be OK. Thanks.

1. Try Prime95 Torture Test, but I don't see why you need a burn-in??
2. Quite a bit (2.6GHz possible), a 3500+ o/c extremely well
3. nForce 3 Ultra, I think so
4. What do you mean by IC of the Video Card?
5. 3Dmark 01,03,05, Sysmark 2004, Sisoft Sandra HDtach etc. Depends on what kind of performace are you looking at.

Why do you have such a negative atitude. Overclocking does provide huge benefits. A 3000 64 cpu that costs $140 can be made to run like a Fx 53 cpu $600. Some will even run faster and beat it in Pi, aquamarks, 3dmarks etc.

The video card should be adjusted to a Nvidia 6800GT. I'd recommend this because ATI cards don't have smartshader 3.0 and this will be included in alot of the newer games. Such as Age of Empires 3.

Benchmarks do matter, it's the only way to tell if your system is running fine (as it should be).

Umm, I am 40 years old and I overclock because it is a hobby of mine. I also like tweaking my systems to get the most out of them.

I like buying a CPU for 200 bucks and getting 400 dollars worth of performance out of it. What is wrong with that? If I fry it...big deal I'll buy another one and try it again.

I have had numerous overclocked riggs that ran for years.
