I am putting together a budget box for my daughters and am installing a Radeon 7000 video card on a K7S5A Pro MB (I did mention budget build, didn't I?). The MB uses an SiS735 chipset. The manual for the video card indicates that, for non-Intel chipsets, it is necessary to install the latest AGP drivers from the chipset manufacturer PRIOR to replacing the current video card with the new Radeon. Failure to do so, it reports, may result in AGP memory not being detected or a black screen after Windows loads.
Here's my question:
This is a new build. New MB. New HD. No existing video card. If I don't install the new video card first, I'll have no video at all. Will I have a problem installing the card and the new drivers before I even install Windows? Will I even be able to install the new drivers without having Windows loaded?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
