My current Rig is a P4 2.4 Ghz w/HT and 1GB of ddr333 and 256mb GF6200 LE

I Currently looking to build a new system now to play mostly older games maxed out and be able to handle current games decently

MY budget is around $1000 this is what i could come up with

CPU: E2160
Mobo: P35-DS3L/R(not sure which one)
PSU: Corsair 450 VX
RAM: 2GB G.Skill
CPU Cooling: Ultra 120 Extreme with Ultra kraze 2000rpm
GPU: HD 3870

I'm not sure what monitor to go with or case. Looking at a monitor between $200-300

i would like to OC e2160 to around 3.2Ghz. Can i Expect much improvement over my current System

Your comments would be appreciated

Your new cpu@3.2 will be at least twice the speed of that P4. Aside from that your chices look OK, but you might want to make that PSU the 520.

I believe the 450 should be enough since i don't plan on upgrading this build and would only be using a max of two HDD and one Disc drive .

I'm looking for a budget case with good air flow but can't decide on any

EDIT: Just realised the 520 is only $20 more and is modular...think i'll be getting that instead Thanks

The Coolermaster Centurion 5 is a good case. Not the best acoustics necessarily, but it's hard to beat for the price, and should provide good cooling on a budget.

Had my eyes set on that case but wasn't sure if the ultra would fit or if the 80mm front fan and 120mm rear fan alone would provide adequate cooling..decibel level isn't much of a problem to me though

Don't know for sure about the Ultra. You'd probably have to remove the side duct that comes with the case. Someone around here (or perhaps an email to Coolermaster or Thermalright) could probably tell you for sure.

I'm looking for a case that can re-route cables behind the motherboard tray but the only one i can find is the p182 and 180b I'm looking for something a bit cheaper.

Any Ideas?

Decided to go with Samsung 22" 226BW and up the CPU to E4500 (calling my rig a Core 2 instead of a pentium would be better for resale value)

I still can't decide on a good case yet
