New build won't recognize microphone

I have a new build with an ASUS M2A-VM

Anyways, after I did everything, it wont recognize a microphone I plugged it (the pink jack type microphone)

They audio jack works but the microphone doesn't.

I have tried both front and back jacks in the system but I have no luck.

Any ideas?

The input is probably muted. You can enable the volume control for the mic in the mixer properties.
