New build won't POST. Not even any beeps.

Q6600
Gigabyte DS3R
8800GTS
OCZ Plat. Rev. 2
Silverstone 560W
WD 500GB

Swapped out known working parts (video card, memory, power supply, monitor) from a different computer.

CPU fan spins on power up and that is it. No beep codes. Don't know what else to do. Build is outside of case right now with bare minimum connected. I am not sure know if it could be faulty hardware, as I have never had one before.

Any other suggestions to get this build working or to determine which piece of hardware is faulty?

Thanks.

Hi,

This is kind of a long shot, but here goes. When we built our 2nd computer, we were having what sounds to be a similar problem. After reading through the mobo manual, we found out that the cpu wasn't receiving any power. All we had to do was take the 4-pin cpu connector from the PSU, and plug it into the 4-pin slot on the mobo (it's square).

Please let us know how you come out!

Not a long shot, the 4 & 8 pin connectors on mobos are kinda new and some people are not connecting them. The symptoms are exactly as the OP posted. So yeah first make sure you have ALL of the power connected correctly.

If you are sure everything is connected correctly you likely have a bad motherboard.

Right. With our first build, there was not extra cpu power connector. So, we didn't even think to look for one....
