New Build with weird CPU issues

Hello All, in need of some help again. I just got a new build put together (which I am extremely stoked about) however, I noticed in the BIOS my CPU multiplier was extremely low and it was running at 2.13Ghz

I did some research before and the Q6700 is suppose to run at 2.66 IIRC.

Do I need to make some changes in the BIOS to get it to default?

Here is a picture of what CPU-Z reads upon load:

I assume you haven't heard of speedstep yet. It downclocks the cpu by lowering the multiplier to x6. When it runs under load, multiplier goes up to x10. If you want to have it run at x10, just disable speedstep.

Disable Speedstep AND C1E in BIOS

Awww darn, I did completely forget to read the stickies.. I was so excited to have a new computer I got ahead of myself lol...

To make myself even worse, I did a "Q6700 Throttling Help" query in Google, which of course, came up with a host of options 🙁

In any case, thank you guys.. When I have time today I will definitely read the stickies and all about Speedstep/C1E in the Bios.

haha may I have a moment to yell "4 Cores of Processing Power! Woooooohoooo!"
