This new system that I just built is having display issues. It will be fine for about 20 minutes, but then the display will go out. I then have to reboot the system via the reset button. It has only happened twice, as I just finished building it.
The first time it happened, the system froze for a second, and then the display went out.
At first I thought it may have been a BIOS issue with its Power Management feature, so I updated to the latest BIOS and disabled Power Management in the new BIOS, but that did not fix it.
So, I figured it might be the display drivers. I just downloaded and installed the latest drivers from Power Color's site. WinXP was using outdated drivers, even though I was using the most recent drivers that WinXP had in Windows Update.
I ran Prime95 just to test out its stability, and it lost the display during the 3rd test. It had passed the first two.
After I installed the latest drivers for the vid card, I was able to run Prime95 and have it pass 7 tests before I stopped it. But then, after about 10 minutes after I stopped it, the display went out again.
What's the deal? Bad vid card? Bad mobo?
