This is a new build and has been loaded, but in attempting to resolve an Audigy/Norton conflict and an issue with Roxio 7, I had to try some fairly significant tweaking and plan to reload the computer after deleting the RAID partition and start over with a virgin install just to satisfy my left brain. Opinions requested on recommended sequence of software loaded AFTER RAID and mobo drivers and Windows XP Pro SP-1 and critical updates. The following choices of software then are: (assume each one updated right after it is loaded)
Norton Systemworks 2004
Norton Firewall 2004
Audigy 2ZX Platinum software
Radeon x800 Pro software
Wireless Keyboard and Mouse software
Plextor CD-RW software
Plextor DVD-RW software
MS Office 2003
Roxio Easy Media Creator 7
CorelDraw 9
Photoshop Elements 2

I would get all critical updates, then all drivers for ALL hardware, then plextor software, then software, then virus, then spyware/malware progs. Get all updates downloaded to a spare drive or etc. before install and don't connect to the net until you are protected. These days you need anti-malware progs.

I've never heard of different plextor progs for cdrw and dvdrw. I use plextools and it does it all.
Norton products are really bloated almost like aol. I would go for something a lot more functional like trend etc.
Roxio doesn't have the greatest reputation either, look into less bloatware again. It can play hell with recorders a lot of times.
After years of jacking with Creative I switched to m-audio and what a blessing. A lot simpler and sounds better
It looks like you've got a decent system
Don't let norton, AOL or Roxio near it and you wo't have any problems.

Try these progs, they run flawlessly for me
copy to dvd- for all types of burning
plextools- for all types of burning
1clickcopytodvd- for dvd backup
tmpgeplus- for video encoding
tmpgeauthor- for video editing
good luck
