The title says it all. It's nice to have the IGP as a backup, and I may even use it to power a secondary monitor in the future. I also kinda wanna see what the IGP can do. :p I'm weird like that.

Of course..
I would install chipset driver which usually will includes the iGPU first, then the AMD drivers.

Short Answer yes......long answer Sol's :) specially with win 7 and 8 drivers actually almost play nice with each other as they are kept seperate from each other :)

So, it won't let me install the HD 4600 driver, nor does the iGPU show up in the device manager. Why is this? Am I missing a driver or something?

I just ordered a 7950 for my i5 4670k build. It didn't work. The monitor didn't turn on with the card plugged in and I couldn't install the latest drivers for amd. I reinstalled windows 7 to completely wipe the drivers, but that didn't help.

Did I mess something up or is the 7950 dead? The fans spin.

Anything I should try?

I still have the card. I plan on shipping it back tomorrow.
