Hello again. I posted a couple weeks ago and I am back with a little bit bigger budget. I got some feedback on another forum and I would like some of your phenomenal opinions with where I am at.
For the most part its a pure gaming build, we do alot of internet on the pc but the only intensive portion is gaming.
Budget is about 1200 now, I would like to know if you guys can give me feedback on what I have in my basket right now or maybe even give me cheaper options for equal or better performance. My only main sticklers is I would like to keep my HDD at least 1TB, I have my PSU as an overkill and a big case because I hope for it to last me 2 or 3 upgrades (as did my current one). Anyhow, here is where I am at for the moment----

COOLER MASTER HAF 922 RC-922M-KKN1-GP Black Steel + Plastic and Mesh Bezel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

PSU
SeaSonic X750 Gold 750W ATX12V V2.3/EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
$160

Mem

$60

CPU/MOBO Combo
Intel Core i5-760 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

$338 (combo)

Total is 1197 + shipping (all newegg atm shipping is about 35)

NOTE-- as posted in a previous thread, I do not know much about current technology, but my PC can no longer play the games I play (crashes) so I would like to order this now-- thanks 🙂

Just because you plan on upgrading does not necessarily mean you'll be increasing power consumption. Today's trend seems to be making things more efficient, especially since we're at the practical limit for a max TDP.

Just wondering, are there any difference between the 1TB F3 and the 1TB F3R, other than $30 more and 2 additional years of warranty?

no idea mage, I just selected the first samsung 1tb spinpoint I saw, I am going off of what others link me, I have no clue about the components I am buying--- going blindly off everyones suggestions, lol.

and yes blain, I added about 200 to the budget, (200 to the 850 budget if you take out the monitor), but ty for your contribution.

The F3R is the "RAID version" that supports Samsung's version of TLER (Time Limited Error Recovery). You might as well just get the normal version since you're not planning to RAID.

Also, I agree with blackmage about the TDP. Your system would be much better off with a GTX 570 plus a reasonable 650W PSU than it would be with a $270 GTX 470 and a $160 PSU.
