Right then, here's the start of my new build. In particular, I want recommendations for sound card, memory, case, overclocking centered items.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Motherboard: ASUS P5B Deluxe
Memory: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2x 1GB, 800MHZ) TWIN2X2048-6400C4PRO
Video: ATI X1900XT 512MB
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1
Power: Enermax Liberty 620W (+3.3V@28A, +5V@32A, +12V1@22A, +12V2@22A, -12V@0.6A, +5VSB@3A)
Case: Antec P180
HDD1: WD Raptor 150GB (Already owned)
HDD2 - 5: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB x4 RAID5 (Yes, I'm a low end storage server)

Now, is this motherboard suitable for overclocking? I don't really plan on using more than a single, fast, video card. How about the sound card? Is there any real competition to Creative at this point, keeping in mind I'm not just about games and EAX. How about the memory? I didn't get the chance to look up what kind of chips those are or how well they overclock, any general recommendations?

Also, this is my first time with DDR2, so what am I looking for in regards to overclocking? DDR2800 @ 4-4-4-12 or higher frequency with higher timings?

Thanks in advance to any recommendations and discussion.

The XMS C4s are not that good for overclocking... crap actually. The C3s are good but expensive. I constantly hear good things about the G Skill HZ.

Reviews will give you a general idea of what motherboards offer good overclocking options, so go find a conroe board 'roundup' type thing, then pop over to xtremesystems foums to see what results people are actually getting with them.

Your other components are all good stuff.

Depends on how far you want to go. I have that memory and it does DDR2-1000 at 5-5-5-15 which isnt bad.
