I'm bulding a new system utilizing an antec 900 case, OCZ game stream 600w power supply, a GA-p35_ds3p mother board, Intel 6750 cpu, Zalman 9500 cooler,
4 gigs of crucial balistix 6400 ram, EVGA 8800 gt graphics board, 2 x seagate 320 mb sata hd's, 1 asus sata dvd.
My problem is this:
The mother board has an 8 pin 12v cpu connector with 4 pins covered (the install manual is ambigous to say the least). The ocz power supply has 2 x 4 pin 12volt connectors labeled cpu1 and 2. Can I remove the mother board connector covering 4 of 8 pins and use both 4 pin connectors in the 8 pin receptical (pin outs seem to match) without damaging the cpu or mother board?
Note: The power supply has 4 x 12volt rails rated at 18 amps each!
