new build problems

I have everything unhooked except the essentials. My mb is chaintech vnf4U, i have 1gb stick or corsair vs ram in, a seasonic 430W psu hooked up, a venice 3000+ cpu, and an evga pci-e 6800gt. Everything powers up just fine but I cannot get any video on my monitor. What are common problems that I should start looking at to fix this?
