New build - problem

Recently bought a 74gb Raptor, DFI Lanparty UT 250gb, and an Athlon 62 3200+.

Got it today, started installing it.

No boot - literally. Fans spin, but no beeps and no video.

So far:

1) Tried resetting the CMOS
2) Have tried two video cards, both known good
3) Have tried two seperate PSUs, both known good
4) Have tried two seperate sticks of ram, both known good - seperately 😛
5) Have tried starting the mobo on just cardboard to see if there is a short
6) Stripped it down to ram, proc, and vid card.
7) Tried googling for similar problems, and tried those solutions - including reseating all power connections.
So far, I have not tried reseating the CPU, but I have my doubts how much that will help.

I highly do not want to cross-ship or RMA these two things, but if I have to...I have to.

Suggestions would be gladly appreciated. I'm stumped as to what it could be at this point - and I don't want it to be a dead mobo or proc.

dont tell me you inserted the processor in backward 😛

sounds stupid but after installing athlon xp's for awhile ya just get a hang of installing them the same. Make sure the gold arrow is facing away from the lever 😉

BW86: I made sure I didn't do that 😉.

You should have seen the look on my face when I saw the pins, and the socket. "WTF?" was an understatement 😉.

Unfortunately, I don't pay attention to the gold arrow - I just line up the pins directly with the socket....

2X: Both the PSUs are known good. I don't see how it could be them, especially on a stripped board?

....Well, I tried to reseat it.

On a VERY good note, my thermal compound application (Artic Silver 5) was so good that it A) Ripped the proc right out of the socket, or B) The proc wasn't properly inserted.

And even if it was B, holy CRAP! I can't believe how hard it was to rip that damn proc off the heatsink.

Edit:

Well, it's official. The proc wasn't properly inserted - the A64s require more insertion force then the AXPs.

....Total crock of crap.
