Hey everyone, just got an abit ip35-e. After removing the motherboard from the case and only plugging in essentials, (20pin, 4pin 12v, the auxiliary 4pin connnector, and the speaker) I was able to get the computer to post. However, I am then brought to the abit welcome screen where I have two options.

TAB For Post and DEL for Setup.

Unfortunately, neither works, even though my keyboards lights up (tried two keyboards, neither usb).

I have bene able to get the actual post screen to appear when powering up, and it displays my cpu (e4400) ram (ocz ddr 800) and an error message which was a cmos checksum error.

I understand that my ram is too high a voltage, but since it posts and records its ok right? I tried to make it work using other ram, samsung stuff that came with an hp machine, but that did not even post.

Not sure what to do from here. Seems that all the components are ok. I know that the video card, a 6600gt is alright. I will be getting a new powersupply on friday, so i can check if that is the issue then.

One time I had something like ths happen to me. All I had to do was turn off my PSU, then turn it back on.

What voltage is your memory at and what are its stock voltage settings?

Hey thanks, yeah Ive tried turning it on and off a bunch. I think it might be slightly underpowered maybe. Its an old thermaltake 480 with only 18a on the 12v rail.

The memory is either 2 - 2.1 while the stock setting for the motherboard is 1.8. One Dimm makes the computer beep constantly, while it is alone and in the fourth slot, and the other allows it to post. Because it posts and the memory registers it makes me believe that this is not the problem, could be wrong though. Like I said, I did try some samsung ram that came with an hp computer I have, but that did not post at all. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the voltages are on that since the bios doesn't have many options.

So far I am waiting on a new psu that is arriving tomorrow, hopefully that will fix it, otherwise I will not know what to do, other than bring it into a shop and have them throw some ram in.

I think if the PSU doesnt fix it then it could be the RAM. Your voltage seems to be fine. Let me know if it works.
