Given these choices which would you select or if youve got any other reccomendations (i prefer a gigabyte mobo) id like to hear them

Roger that. Good answer. - since budget is an obvious concern then I'd definitely go w/ the 939. >$300 for the pair is quite a deal for that kinda performance.

yeah, you'll have to put a bit more money, but I think it might be worth it, look at this Gigabyte board I think its worth the extra effort if you can scrape some change... Otherise (or should I say in any case) get the socket 939.

you can get an nforce4 ultra for $120 or less from foxconn, ecs, and chaintech. My chaintech is even a good overclocker. I'd recommend the extra $35 on an nforce4 so that you can save yourself from having to upgrade your mobo during your next upgrade. Regarding the CPU, i'd definitely go 939, especially if you're overclocking. Also, if you're not afraid to push your CPU, a 3000+ will clock just as high as a 3200+ (~2.6-2.7GHz), and that $50 you save could go towards a better mobo and memory. I have my 3000+ at 2.5GHz right now, and it'll probably go farther if I up my vcore.
