New build. old hdd, Ram, dvdburner no beep or post

ok i just put this thing together and it fired right up then the video went all haywire and now nothing at all not even a beep at post. it worked at first.. windows vista booted right up then the video went all "liney" with red lines and turned into a tan screen.
Any thoughts??

Can you POST and get into the BIOS without a hard drive?

Get it down to the bare minimum (video card, memory, processors, power supply) and see if you can get into the BIOS. If so, add one device back in at a time until you get the failure.

Are you trying to use a previous install of Vista that is still on that HDD to run this new build. If so thats part of your problem. When you cahnge the motherboard you pretty much have to perform a fresh install of the OS.

IS the system in your sig the system in question?

got it to fire up, the vidcard burned up after 2 minutes of running..so we put in his old vc and whammo lights up like the 4th uv July....Thanx all though
