New build now or later?

I have a few questions regarding current hardware vs what's coming up. My main use for the system is gaming. I'm planning on a new build for Battlefield 3.

My current system is a C2D E8500, 8GB ram and 260 GTX SLI.

My main question is it worth building a new system within the next 3-4 months or wait for the next generation CPU and video cards early next year? After I build a machine I usually fall out of the loop on the latest hardware, so I haven't done a ton of research yet as to what's out there vs. what's coming out yet.

Also, is my current system good enough to play BF3 on low settings at 1920x1200? I know there aren't any current benchmarks out for the game yet, but I know there are at least some people that played the alpha version.

Thanks for any thoughts.

GTX 260 SLI and an E8500 should be good for much better than low settings. If BF3 is the main thing that you're worried about, it's best to wait until we have solid benchmarks before you build.
