So I got the part and it isnt going to POST.

It powers up and nothing! I took it all apart and to see if any connection was loose.... NADA.... stuck. Any suggestions?

Here is the final specs:
AMD FX-57
Asus A8n-SLI Premium
(2) 1gig Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2 Pro
Antec True Control II 550watt

Maybe the Corsair memory isnt compatible?
I read through this already....

Do you have the EZ-Plug connected, as well as the ATX12V cable? The EZ Plug is the four-pin power receptacle just above the upper video-card slot on the mobo's surface.

Also, what are the rest of the specs (video cards and stuff) and did you try testing the bare essentials with the motherboard outside the case, lying on cardboard? And I know you probably triple-checked, but if your video card has a receptacle for a power cable, is that hooked up?

Define "powers up" more clearly, please... fans (case, and CPU)? disk drives? power light on motherboard (Asus usually has a green LED for mobo power on the mobo itself).

A motherboard with nothing but a speaker (yours might even have a soldered on speaker) attached will post. Take everything out - video, ram, processor and all, and see what it does; if it posts, add things back in one at a time... CPu, then RAM, then video, then whatever else. Describe what it does to us for each step. Connect your drives last, one at a time, starting with the boot disk.

If it doesn't post with nothing attached, and has power (indiciated by the LED, or better, by measuring voltage on your PSU) then it's likely a dead motherboard.

you're going to want to leave the cpu in there.

I had a similar problem, with my ABit board. I removed the Processor from the socket examined the pins and re-seated it and the computer posted no problems. You may want to check that out

Otherwise I'm useless :)

You want all three power cables plugged into the motherboard. Also, post your complete specs, start to finish, brand AND model, so we don't have to guess what you've got for hardware.

That is all.

Here is the final specs:
AMD FX-57 w/ Cooler Master AquaTel Mini 120
Asus A8n-SLI Premium
(2) 1gig Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2 Pro
Antec True Control II 550watt

This is all the equipment i have plugged in....

There are 3 plugs. two for the motherboard and one for the video card. The 7800GTX already have a power port, I dont think i need to plug that in.

I will try taking out the cpu and putting it back on....

You should have the power cord hooked up to the 7800 like this and three power plugs on the motherboard:

1) the 24-pin main plug

2) the 4-pin ATX12V square plug

3) the EZ Plug
