Video on Boot problem Solved. I overlooked the 8 PIN power plug.
I also sorted out the following fan complaints that came up when the machine booted up. I wasn't careful enough about plugging the case fans into the right plugs on the motherboard.
Everything else powered up fine. My old HD woke up in the new computer and figured out where it was without an OS refresh. I'll clean that up this weekend when I install my video card. I expected a pile of errors, and didn't expect Win 10 to be this resilient.

Hyper 212 Plus cooler. Fan plugged into fan plug on MB. 3 holes on fan plugged into 4 prong plug aligned with the plastic tab on MB
RAM
2 8G sticks of Ripjaws memory in slots 1A 2A per MB instructions
SSD
500GB Crucial SSD plugged into general sata port bank
HD pulled from old PC running with windows 10. Was going to rebuild with install disc.
SATA BluRay drive installed
Powers up and accepts discs.
Video
Trying to use onboard HDMI to eliminate degrees of freedom. Have 1080ti standing by
