howdy all , here is the problem in a nut shell , took apart my old cpu a HP XL876 athlon 1.2 and HD etc
i bought a new case with a 400w okia psu model#500atx http://edazz.com/atcoblmicawi.html
a cheao Mobo , the Biostar M7VIB http://www.gearxs.com/gearxs/product_info.php?products_id=3408
a 512 stick of ram generic http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
using the old 1.2 athalon processor
and also the maxtor 30 gig , formated with my 939 A64 3000+ machine, and installed XP pro
now for the story
the old HP machine was my old machine and after building my new one i deceided it would be better for the kids then the one they had now. so what i did is took there HD out formated it and reinstalled windows using my new machine , i formated because there old mach was a celron
now back to the HP mach , this machine i gave up on because of random times i would have to lay the mach on its side to get it to boot , other wise it would come up with no operating system found , i know that sounds totally silly but it did work and i didnt have to do it often , i figured it was a mobo problem and i know the usb ports were going bad so i made the Biostar machine out of it ( After i did the HD swap to this machine it also came up with the no OS found, its when i gave up tring to use that machine)
i took the 1.2 out of the HP mach redid the thermal paste and popped it in the biostar board as well as the asus 32m agp-v3800 graphics card, one of the few things im sure that work..the 30 gig HD with windows xp pro on it does boot in my new machine so ill say that also is working
memory in the biostar machine is also new 512k pc2100

Apon start up of the biostar mach it powers the led lights in front all fans come on , no beeps no post , no video
i have tried to reset the cmos , and reseating the memory in slot 1 and 2 , umm tried it with just cpu chip no mem or video , still no beeps
as far as i can tell i have all the jumpers right, if there is something you need me to check by all means tell me so , i need to figure out where ot go next.
i hope one of you Gurus can help me out here im tirng to get her up and going before thursday any help would be greatly appericated
