I'm looking to build a new system for some gaming, watching HD video, and Photoshop work. I'm mainly looking for an increase in Photosop performance.
Currently I have: Athlon 64 3000+, 2GB RAM, 6600GT.
Looking at buying:
Intel Q6600

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L

2 GB of Corsair RAM

I do not plan to OC. The difference between a dual core and quad is about $45 so it seems like a no brainer. Since I do not plan to OC, can I save a few bucks on the mobo? I currently have a Gigabyte and have been happy with it. This current config is $450 at newegg. I want to keep it around that or cheaper.
I plan on upgrading the video card in a few months.
