Hello guys,

I'm planning on getting a new rig in the very near future. It'll be custom-built, but not by myself. I'd like to show you guys the specs and get some tips/pointers.

Cost: $1,159 + tax (CAD)
CPU: Intel i5 750 2.66GHz 8M
Mobo: Gigabyte P55-UD4
Memory: Kingston DDR3 1333MHz dual channel kit (2GB x 2)
GPU: ATI Radeon 5850 1GB GDDR5
Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 ATX
PSU: Cooler Master 750W Silent Pro Modular
Hdd: WD 1TB
OS: Not included. Will get Windows 7
Purpose of build: Lots and LOTS of games (e.g. COD: MW2, Dragon Age: Origins) + Movies (even though I can't afford one right now, I do eventually plan to get a blu-ray drive for this rig, so need flawless HD playback.) As some of you might now, DA:O lags mercilessly towards the end of the game.

I'd appreciate any pointers or suggestions on the improvements.

On a side note, my last rig (custom-ordered) was built in 2003. It was a Pentium 4 single core running Windows XP. Suffice it to say, I'm a bit out-of-date on the current technologies. Most importantly, I'm unfamiliar with many of the current technical names. I understand things like quad core vs dual core, but some of the terms used to describe mobos and rams are unfamiliar to me. I'd really appreciate it if someone could post a link to a guide that I can read for myself that will explain all of these terms.

Thank you!
