Looks pretty solid, but you don't need a SLI motherboard for a 6600gt, unless you are planning on upgrading in the near future. I would just save some money and ditch the sli.

I too wouldn't bother with SLI as you'll gain a PCI slot the other way...plus I would think you're :

Just to mention, but on that board, what are you adding to it that it doesnt already have??? I mean onboard SB HD Sound with Optical Out, Dual Gigabit NICs, DUAL SATA RAID cards, 3 Addon PCI slots, etc... That board has it all, and still room for 3 PCI items. 4 PCI items? Truthfully the extra SLI slot is probably more worthy of being there. SLI is not necessary and quite expensive to go through the trouble, but leaving the option available is worth more than not haing the option at all. The difference in price really isnt a big deal and with $25.00 mail in rebate till the end of August at qualified online sellers, the deal is that much sweeter...

I say stick with the SLI just in case for the future if you dont plan on adding 4 PCI cards of whatever reason. Who knows, down the line you might just fall headfirst into a cheap 6600GT and up the ante...

Mickey21...I live in the Country so I'm on dial up which I use 2 Modems (1 PCI and 1 External)then strap them together ...

Then I use multiple Monotors which requires anothe PCI Slot so I have 1 slut left and am deciding between a Sound card or Vid Capture...I 'm glad I quit SCSI

You could've gone with the regular K8N SLi. You lose the second SATA2, but no big deal.

also, you would have been MUCH better off just getting a regular Nforce4 board and upgraded your video card to an X800XL or something. 2 6600GT's in SLI is retarded...

Im not putting in two cards.. only have limited funds for now and didnt want to spend big $$ on the vid yet but the mobo will last awhile and when funds are replenished will go from there... I'm not retarded.. maybe not as knowlegable as you are but not retarded, This card will be fine for now as all i have is an agp4x in an ecs k7s5a that ive been runnin for over 4 years so cut me some slack.. I also have a life and havent lived on this forum for 12k posts. Been kinda busy puttin 3 kids through college and runnin a nuclear power plant in south carolina so why dont you just bite me
