I made a post a couple of days ago with a few different builds but I'm thinking of going with the one my friend made:

What are your thoughts on this, are there any improvements to be made?
This is the first time I've ever made a PC so I have pretty much no idea what I'm doing.

Also here are the answers to the questions if more info is required:

1. Editing, animation and programming but mostly gaming

2. $1000 - $1200

3. Australia

4. http://www.pccasegear.com/ or http://au.pcpartpicker.com/

5. Kind of leaning towards nVidia GPU and definitely Intel CPU

6. I've already got a monitor (1920 x 1200), headphones, keyboard and mouse

7. I will probably hold off on overclocking

8. I'd prefer to use native resolution but will settle for something like 1440 x 900

9. I will be buying and assembling sometime in mid to late December

10. I've already got a copy of Windows 10 on a USB

I had forgotten how inflated prices are over in Australia until I looked at your build. Overall it looks solid although you might want to see if a sale pops up on a GTX 970 or a R9 380, unfortunately either one of those would put you a good bit over your budget for right now.
