Well i figure its about time for an upgrade, and its beena ages since i've built a system, last one i built was an athlon xp 1800 proc rig. i'm in need of some serious advice component wise whats good and whats not.
most of my main components i'm going to transfer, sound card, graphics card, hard disks, RAM etc.
I've been advised to ALWAYS buy socket 939 over 754, so i guess we'll start there, currently looking at a 3200 athlon 64, theres a bit of a jump in price from there to the 3500 and upwards processors, is the performance worth the buck ?
I've been looking at the ECS K8T890-A (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products...m9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=96878) motherboard mainly for its AGP and PCI-E slots, i am on a limited budget and unfortunately graphics card isn't a priority upgrade so i want a mobo i can throw a PCI-E in later. Does having BOTH slots screw with the mobo layout ? anyone got any experience with these ?
My monitor is totally on its way out, and have been looking at getting a TFT this time, any reccomedations on manufacturer ? seeing a lot of reasonably priced LG monitors around, but i've had bad experiences with their mobile phones (cell phones for the americans reading), is this the same with their monitors ?
