hi there,
1)CPU- I dont want to OC or dont know the ABC of it so i dont need a cpu that can OC or NO OC and costs around US$ 150-200
3)MOBO - please recommend a MOBO for that CPU that is costing 100$ or less
4)8800GT is this a good video card for 250US$ @ BB (will it get lower than this once the G92 VC hit the market)
5)RAM 4GB 150 US$ or less (can these old DDRRAM sticks... be used along with DDR2 RAM?)
6)what PSU should i go with?what is the minimum required for the CPU,MOBO,RAM and 8800GT?I have a old 550wat from antec is this good enuf?

and ho this is used for games like Crysis and some videu editing.

Thanks

A few questions for you:
1. Do you prefer Intel or AMD?
2. Are you going to need RAID, firewire or SLI?
3. What model Antec PSU are you using?

Go for something like the Core 2 Duo E4300, then.

Get a cheap&cheerful intel board - reliable and pretty much vanilla standard.

Yes, once better products come out, old products tend to go down in price. It'll not drop by any huge amount. Get a standard EVGA 8800GT (not a factory overclocked one because frankly they're charging you for something you can do yourself after a little reading and it doesn't qualify for step-up.)

DDR and DDR2 cannot be used at the same time in the same motherboard.

Anything by a reasonably reliable brand like OCZ, Seasonic, Corsair. 500 Watts is more than enough.

Yes, providing it has all the connectors you'll need.

I always hear this and to be honest wonder who all these video-editors are and what they're producing... You can check out the recommended and minimum specs for Crysis online.

Edit:
Um, doesn't the number 2 come after 1, usually?

get a EVGA 8800GT and their step-up program it is a good time now to test 8800GT for yourself.
