I have an A64 3200 at 2.6ghz and still have plenty of CPU power available, but I'd like to go to 2 gigs of RAM and don't want to invest in more DDR. I was planning a system around the following:
Gigabyte DS3 Rev. 3.3 (figure the officially supported 1333mhz bus gives some future proofing)
E4300
2 gigs of the ewiz deal here. I would like to get an overclock of 3.0ghz, so I would need to have the 2:1 divider to give me 667mhz for the RAM (correct?)
Questions: If the new DS3's support the newer FSB speed, is Bearlake not worth waiting for? Should I spend more and get faster RAM, or spend more and get 4x1gb? I'm running XP pro right now but will be going to Vista by the end of the year when I upgrade to a DX10 card (X1900 XT still doing fine for me)
