OK im building a new comp for a friend, so this is what im thinking:

A64 3000+
Waiting for more nforce4 Ultra mobos
Kingston HyperX (2x512) pc3200 CL2 memory
Antec Super Lanboy
Sparkle Power 530
Audigy 2 ZS
Chaintech 6600GT PCI-e
Logitech X-530 5.1 Speakers
NEC DVD-RW
Sony DVD drive
Artic Silver 5 Compound
Venus 12 HSF
ViewSonic E90B Monitor

wat do u guys think?

I don't think you really need an Audigy 2 to go with X-530s.

HyperX isn't necessary; see here.

The stock cooling is actually pretty good for overclocking--it even comes with pre-applied Shin-Etsu thermal grease, which is almost as good as Arctic Silver 5--but if you get an aftermarket cooler, try something nice like a Zalman or Thermalright, not a Thermaltake (especially not the Venus 12, which I hear is quite loud).

Looks good, I agree with the comments on the memory. You don't need expensive memory you'll get less than a 1% difference in performance for a 100% difference in price.
Didn't someone mention that Sparkle PSU's are no good? If so I wouldn't put a nice system like that in the hands of poor power supply. It might be worth it to pay a little more for a more reliable power supply.

Sparkles are made by Fortron/FSP Group, so you're probably OK there. Maybe check the "FSP-" model numbers to make sure you're not getting one of the bad Fortrons (I know the "HiQ" ones are trash, but I'm not sure about others).

o and for the sound, he wants to get really nice 7.1 speakers when wireless becomes more affordable and practicle, which may take a year or so, so thats y i was thinking the audigy 2
