New build - floppy question

I finished up my first build this weekend - one problem still remaining (that I know of). THe floppy drive shows up in the bios, and in the windows system info it lists a floppy in the directory. However, when I put a disc in the floppy, I get a message that there is nothing in the floppy. I've tried with clean formatted floppies and data-filled ones. Same problem. Any ideas?

99% of the time this is either a loose cable or an upside-down one. If the floppy LED stay on all the time it's almost certainly upside down (detach and flip it over at just one end, not both).

Little triangle on the connector signifies Pin 1. Make sure cable's Pin 1 is aligned with this properly. On ribbon cables, Pin 1 can be ID'd by the red line/edge on the cabling.
