Asrock Extreme3 Gen3 if you don't need USB3 in the front panel, and don't mind 2 year warranty.

TX650 V2 would save a bit of cash over the modular version.

No point buying a 212+ with a separate thermal paste. The standard paste will do fine. If you're interested in maximum performance then should buy a better heatsink in the first place. (Besides, there are better choices than AS5 - Thermalright Chill Factor 3, Noctua NT-H1 or Prolimatech MK-1.)

The rest looks good to me

Well, you missed [thread=80121]the stickied thread[/thread].

Your case doesn't have front USB 3.0 ports, so I generally suggest the ASRock Extreme3 Gen3, as it has just about everything except headers for such ports. I might make other suggestions if you say you don't want to overclock or something.

Ok thanks.

@ stargazr, yes ordered the hard drive for £49.99 already 🙂

@ lehtv, yes going for the non modular one, must have copied the wrong item. So the 212+ comes with thermal paste?

@ Ken g6, Damn your right I did see that tread and saved the text from it to fill in, that was August! Totally forgot.

Will also look at changing the motherboard

Would definitely like to overclock

Will be gaming @ 1920 x 1080

Many thanks for the input 🙂

Yes, 212+ comes with Cooler Master's own thermal compound.

Generally on 1080p I recommend 6950 2GB. 560 Ti only has 1GB VRAM which can be a bit limited on that res

I am already over budget really and the 6950 is £200+.

Are the P8Z68-V/GEN3 usb 3 front headers compatible with the cases usb2?

Is the Asrock Extreme3 Gen3 as good as the Asus? (going for a Google now)

I don't really see how 6950 2gb + Extreme3 Gen3 would be more over budget than P8Z68-V with 560 Ti. The Asrock board is just that much cheaper than the Asus board.

However, if you want to save some cash, I'd recommend dropping the 212+ for now. Get an aftermarket cooler and OC later. 2500K at stock is really fast already. (You can still do a mild OC with the stock cooler if you want, e.g. 4.0ghz turbo off.)

Are the P8Z68-V/GEN3 usb 3 front headers compatible with the cases usb2?
Yes but you should just use the USB2 headers. I still recommend the Asrock though

The Asus board is only £15 more. The 6950 is £30 more.

How does the 2gb version of the 560ti compare?

Thanks so far 🙂

Oh you're right, the price of P8Z68-V isn't too bad at scan.co.uk. If you go with that, I'd recommend the 6950 anyway, drop the aftermarket cooler to afford it. Additionally you don't really need 650W, this would be absolutely fine. Your system only uses about 300W at load.

560 Ti 2GB is slower and more expensive then 6950 2gb.
