New Build Doesn't Start

I received all the components for my first build from newegg, and after sufficient excitement and work putting together all the components I had the ultimate fear of a first-timer.

After attaching everything, and turning on the computer, the CPU fan spins up, but the monitor was blank. After that I detached everything but MOBO, CPU, and Video Card so I could deal with a less cluttered environment.

Still nothing, and worse, because my case didn't come with a speaker, there are no beeps to let me know whats wrong. As best as I can tell all parts are connected properly, and should be compatable, but since I'm at bare basics, and seeing nothing on the screen I was hoping someone wiser might be able to shed some light on my issue.

Here are the 4 (5 with PSU) components hooked up right now:
Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 ATX12V 500W Power Supply - Retail
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Conroe 2.13GHz LGA 775 Processor Model
Leadtek PX7900GT TDH Geforce 7900GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
ECS P965T-A (V1.0) Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard -
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Unbuffered

I've been very busy lately, but literally as soon as I have an hour, I will go find myself a case speaker, but as for now I was wondering if there were any obvious hardware issues. Thank you for your help.

This kind of thing has been happening a lot with the 965 chipset and core 2 (I'm going through the same thing), but there still doesn't seem to be any common cause or solution known. If you end up returning the motherboard I'd get one with the 975 chipset instead.

That could be it, one thing you could do terran89 is plug headphones into the audio port on the motherboard and hear what it's stating the problem is.

Will it report the sound on headphones? I will give that a shot, I had no idea, I thought it would only report over the system beep. I'll give that a chance. Thanks for the reply!
