IS the Q6700 worth the moeny for me? I want to update my 939 system and I am really looking for some power.

On average I have 75 applications open, I multi-task, using Nero, Photoshop and and mp3 player, plus the internet....and I would like it to be able to handle a few games.

probably better with the q6600 (overclock if necessary), but what do you mean 75 applications open? (are you counting windows in ie/firefox? )
