There is no good reason to buy a socket 939 system if you can get a better system for less with socket 754.

How about no upgrade path since the 754 is on it's way out? Sounds like a good reason to me.

You don't pay much of a premium with 939, and get stuff like a dual channel memory controller and (generally) better oc'ing. I'd stick with it.
