These are my specs: https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...tween-these-cpus.2504630/page-3#post-38866434

I connected my ethernet wire to the motherboard and there's a green light below the cable and an orange light above the cable. When I tried to connect to the Internet, I get an error of "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration". I've called my ISP and after an hour and a half (go Comcast!), they decided it's an issue with my router (Motorola Surfboard SBG6580). I can't even access the router from the new PC.

Does anyone know what could be the issue?

Also, my GPU fans haven't spun once since I turned it on but the display adapters work perfectly fine. Any ideas? I need the internet to test my GPU, so I'm kinda stuck at the moment.

What drivers have you installed so far?

Is device manager showing a question on any devices?

The drivers I installed were off the disk that came with my motherboard. Everything says it's up to date and the device manager shows no question marks or caution triangles.

Does Device Manager shows the Router? I would try reinstalling the Router if you can't access it. That includes entering the Routers access code.

Screenshots would be good but it sounds like you're not getting a DHCP address. Screenshots of both the error and your IP configuration would be preferable.

That's normal on modern GPU's. They stay off until needed.

WUT.

I get an error when trying to access my router. This site can't be reached. Took too long to respond.

Goddamnit AMD...

I decided to go back and check the motherboard driver disk one more time and I happened to notice there was a RealTek LAN Driver option, but right above that one, I had previously installed the AMD All-In-One driver which also had an option for LAN drivers during All-In-One installation. Apparently they are two different drivers...

Why can't they just be normal and have their all-in-one driver actually install ALL IN ONE? I even checked the RealTek driver in the device manager and it said it was up to date.

Sorry for this thread. Everything appears to be working normally now. I appreciate all the responses in this thread, but it appears I just missed something incredibly simple. Thanks again.

Good to hear! Thanks for the update.

Reminds me of another board install CD that did that, but it was many years ago and can't remember who's it was.

No biggie, it happens to the best of us! Just glad you got it working. ;)
