Just finished a new build specs as follows:

I7 2600k 3.4ghz
Nvidia 570 gtx
12gb DDR 3 RAM
Corsair 750w ps
Asus p8 p67Le mboard
Windows 7 64 bit

When I power the computer on it will automatically restart after five seconds. After that it won't restart.. But it will begin the boot process. All fans spin and lights light up normally, I can hear the hard drive going - but I get a 100% black screen no matter what.

I have tried: disconnecting all peripherals
Trying a different monitor
Reseating heatsink // CPU
Taking out gpu to see if the 5 second restart would go away (no)
Trying each ram dim in each slot one by one
Checking all connections and reseating them all

I'm stumped and beyond annoyed. It's a six day wait to have it repaired around here and I can't believe it might come to that.

I had an automatic restart like that on a system befor that was an issue with the PSU. Though i cant say if that would always be the case and not possibly motherboard related.

I also had a blackscreen issue befor that turned out to be the GFX card. Check if yours if fully seated? have another slot to try? or onboard for testing?

EDIT: oh saw a post on here somewere too titled something like "is this a short" were his system did sumthing funky like that if the PSU was touching the case. but worked not touching cause the short

did you change the boot sequence in the bios to your hard drive where windows 7 is installed? if yes, and still not booting, put your windows 7 cd in and reboot, when you get to windows 7 installer, choose repair.
