Since MicroCenter is running such a great sale I thought it a great time to upgrade my old 939/A64-3000 system. I have been thinking about an i5 system but this seems to be a great deal and I think more than enough for what I use a desktop for (Office 07/Word & Excel, editing & playing cam video w/ MS Moviemaker, watching DVD's, dreamweaver & photoshop, Ultima Online & Warcraft.) For what it is worth, I am still pretty happy with what I have now, just wish it were faster.
Buying:
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI M-ATX - $60
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz - $96
RAM: OCZ Vista 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) - $100
CASE: Antec Three Hundred - $50
Already have unopened Win7 Ultimate from event, two WD 640g Blacks, two Benq DVD-RW, Antec 450 PS, Saphire 3850, Acer 22" LCD, keyboard, mouse, speakers.
The mATX doesn't bother me, I don't overclock as stability is the most important thing for me.
Any thoughts on components alone or together? Any gotchas?
