hmmmmmm, wonder if this comes w/ the STARTER Toner or whaaaaaaaaat :D

My HL-1440 is puttin' gray all over the page, even if it IS still puttin' black in all the right spots :D

Toner cartridge is still more expensive than THIS! :D heh!

Price match OfficeMax $79.99 price on the HL-1440 to Staples for a total of $72.99 + Tax,
cheaper than a cartdrige in many places if you want to keep your HL-1440.

Mine is doing the same. Any way to clean it up?

edit: just did some research. Guess I have to replace my toner cartridge...or buy this printer instead. :)

Didn't mean to hijack this thread, but here is a link on some possible fixes for the HL-1440 grey page problem.

It's much much shorter (almost half the height from what I recall)... not sure about functionally/technically

From what I've read so far

Faster printing
USB2 support
Can potentially be put on network (including wireless)
Can potentially print at higher DPI (probably need a memory upgrade)
Smaller
Conserve Toner Mode

Don't forget,

Less memory, 8 Meg max
comes with a starter toner only.

correct me if I'm wrong...isn't the hl-1440 able to be put on networks and wirelessly operated?
this worked for me through a puter...

is this printer able to do this w/o being hooked to a puter?

TIA! :D
