Now I understand that these things are bound to happen and I normally don't make much fuss over this, in fact there wouldn't be much fuss at all if the company had a resume to back up the lucrative contract they just scored. That's one key difference with this and the Haliburton deals that went on. Haliburton actually has quite the experienced resume, this company? Never even fucking heard of them. So to those of you out there who expected different when you so vehemently supported this current administration, are you fed up yet?

Still, Richter concedes that the Obama Administration has played a role in landing the assignment for Hill—and that James Biden’s political skills often come in handy. The 100,000-unit development won by HillStone is part of a $35 billion, 500,000-unit project deal won by TRAC Development, a South Korean company that Richter says has close ties to the Iraqi government.

Richter says Hill has contacts in both Iraqi government and the State Department, the result of years of managing construction projects in the Middle East. As for which party was more responsible for helping the firm win the Iraqi deal, Richter said, “I don’t know who called who.”

But he does know that James Biden is a valuable employee—particularly when the government and his business overlap. “He knows how to deal with government officials; that’s his skill,” Richter said. “He makes people from foreign countries comfortable we’re not going to steal their money.”

“After all, he’s also been with his brother a long time,” Richter adds.

Having an older brother who’s the vice president certainly has its benefits. Analysts point to some lucrative deals directed to Hill from the federal government, including a $22 million contract awarded to Hill International earlier this month to manage the construction of offices for the State Department.

Maybe that's what ole Joe was laughing, giggling and smirking about during the VP debate, how him and his brother are screwing the American people.

In fact you will hardly ever hear about the shit they have done right because well it just isn't something that is news worthy. I've worked along side Haliburton in the past in a gas field out in Bakersfield. Professional, much more so than a few other companies I've worked besides before. They fuck up, everyone fucks up, wah. Their resume and experience in the energy industry is still pretty good and I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about with a name change. And if your only response is that I am using the "Bush" card...so what? You cannot bitch about someone doing something that you yourself supported with your friends, who btw did FAR more damage than whatever paltry sums that the current administration is throwing the way of their friends. Sorry, Bush set the bar, and Obama has gone no where near that bar of blatant cronyism.

False equivalency. And just because a company is new, doesn't mean that the contracts should be given to the ones with the most experience. Halliburton wasn't experienced all that much either. But considering we are talking about a paltry sum, and a contract that can barely be described as vital to the war effort or whatever, it's not even worth the print. Talk to me when his company keeps getting the contracts and fails miserably at doing the job they were assigned to do.

Did you just say 22 million dollar contract? Explain why then does Hill International project that this contract will generate 1.5 billion in revenue? Not sure if srs? Also, blatant cronyism hasn't been something we've seen with Obama? lol we've seen plenty of it, it's just always pushed to the side as "not a big deal" because you know Obama.

Buxaroo, I'm not here to defend Haliburton consistently getting contracts. I was making the point that when they did get them, originally, they had a significant resume and experience portfolio backing them up. Do you disagree?
