New boards and UEFI

I note that with the latest intel processors and chipsets a lot of board makers are touting UEFI in place of the old traditional BIOS. I'm wondering - what happens if you choose to upgrade to a new CPU and board - to your already installed data and operating system. A lot of folks don't go through a complete fresh install when upgrading boards and CPU.

The change from BIOS to UEFI shouldn't cause problems as they still support traditional BIOS boot methods. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to use 32-bit versions Windows with these boards.

Other changes, like needing different ACHI drivers can problems though.
