New blue-screen errors?! Oy...

Well, my Win98 system WAS perfectly stable (as much as a Win9x machine can be), but lately I've noticed a number of unusual things happening. Sometimes when I'm running programs, ESPECIALLY Nero, I'll get one of the following fatal exception OE bluescreen codes:

0157:0000663D
0177:BFF72830
0177:BFF83BEA

Again, this happens most often with Nero. Fortunately, it has yet to happen mid-burn, so it's not like it's making me burn coasters.

What is peculiar about these blue screens is that if you hit 'enter', the computer still functions just fine. You wouldn't think it just had a blue-screen error. The program you were using when it blue-screened may or may not have closed, but if you open the program right back up it works fine.

I'm told that this may be a conflict with my printer drivers. Any ideas?

I should note that the only changes I've made to my system lately are installing a printer (HP 648c) and installing a CDRW (Lite-On 24x). If it is a printer driver issue, that'd explain it.

These blue screens, though irritating as hell, for the most part seem mostly benign...

Eep. The '0157:0000663D' message came up when starting up my computer before the desktop loaded. Oddly enough, the computer finished loading and is otherwise functioning normally.

EDIT: I've tried uninstalling my printer to see if that'll make a difference. I read in another forum that someone had the same problems as me, someone replied suggesting removing the printer. I went ahead and tried, as I recently added a new printer.

I'd try downloading the latest Via 4-in-1 drivers. That's the first thing Nero says to try for this type of error:

It says on that page that I should disable DMA on the CD-RW. Although I can't access that under drive manager, I'm told that I can enable/disable DMA upon installing or reinstalling VIA 4 in 1 drivers. Wouldn't disabling DMA slow down the CD-RW? My CD-RW does have burn-proof so I doubt it'd burn coasters, but since I went to the trouble of getting a 24x burner, I'd like to be able to use it at 24x.

might just be happening because the computer is under too much stress or too hot\
how fast is your computer...some computers do not support as fast as 24x (actully most dont)
Disabling DMA might prevent you from getting a correct burn but you will notice that when it tries to burn it will come up with an error...but you can try it (it is either disable or enable that does that...i forget)

My CPU/RAM setup is Athlon Thunderbird 900mhz/256mb PC133. Temperature-wise, it's fine.

EDIT: On that same page Slikkster mentioned, it suggested removing a few drivers in the Iosubsys folder. I'm going to try that first.

I've tried renaming said drivers from Slikkster's page. Nothing new worth reporting as far as the errors go.

Well, here's a final analysis of the situation:

I've given up.

I can't seem to fix this problem, and as stated earlier the computer runs fine. These BSODs only occur on start-up now and appear about 50% of the time when starting up the machine. If you hit 'enter' the BSOD goes away and the computer functions normally. I've had consistent uptimes of 12+ hours with considerable use while the computer is on (would be longer but then I turn the computer off), for almost a week. Otherwise, this computer is rock-solid stable (as much as a Win9x system can be). This computer is NOT broken; though irritating, this problem isn't serious enough to make me want to go through the process of a reformat/OS reinstallation.

I'll keep using the machine as it is until it goes totally bonkers and I decide to switch to XP.
