New Bios A8N-SLI Deluxe 1007-003

Is this perhaps the magical fix for the 250 1T limitation? I will test tonight when I get home if you guys don't beat me to it.

Oh man, one can only hope. I wait with baited breath for your response!

Changes noted from 1007-002 to 1007-003:

'Memory hole for PCI MMIO' renamed to 'DRAM over 4G Remapping' and new description added:

"When 4G or More DRAM is installed memory block just below 4GB and Move it to above 4GB. Thus ALL 4GB can be used for OS supporting PAE. Otherwise, some memory range are reserved for PCI"

AI Selector option added. Options: "Auto","Single Video Card", "Dual Video Card"

Options to disable Voltage monitoring in 'Hardware Monitoring' section (Vcore, +3.3, +5 and/or +12V)
,,,don't see anything about that 1T issue

Anyone Anyone Anyone, seen this before? The Laffer Curve. Anyone know what this says? It says that at this point on the revenue curve, you will get exactly the same amount of revenue as at this point. This is very controversial. Does anyone know what Vice President Bush called this in 1980? Anyone? Something-d-o-o economics"

Wrong thread...wrong forum....good luck though! 🙂

Just tried it and it tanked at 250 1T with 2.5-3-3-7 OCZ Plat Rev2. However, it did actually boot into windows and work for a while which is a first (for me).

For the first time since a new A8N BIOS comes out I'm not even going to bother trying. The only issue I have with the board now is the 1T issue now that the Maxtor Diamonmax 10s are good.

Just propped my PC up by the window to suck in cool air, and I'm up to 241 * 11 = 2651 at 1T 2-3-3-5. Been priming for ages so hopefully I can get this 3500+ to 2.7 for the first time.

1004 for me still.

Seems like that is the best bios out for this board, if overclocking is a consideration.

I'm getting pretty close to switching to the DFI though.. I thought this "magic bios" was supposed to be out this week.

The magic BIOS as you put it is supposed to be 1007, and although the email I got from ASUS through Wesley said "this week" (referring to last week) I would say that the final version of 1007 is the one we look at. If it isn't fixed there, then I would assume they weren't able to fix it.

Seriously they havent even put out a 1005 final and they are on 1007-003 beta.

I wouldnt expect a 1007 final for a long time

Er... seems to me that 1006 final has been out for a bit now...so what are you saying?

I figure that 1007 final should be out soon, with all these betas being released...

PS: loved your Ferris Bueller reference earlier in the thread 🙂

Well I just went and searched and 1004 final is the last non beta bios I see.

Ahh well Im running ok, im just running at 2t

What's the biggest diff. between 1.06 & 1.04 ?

Everyone seems to say that 1.04 is the best oc'er, but is is more or less stable than 1.06 ??

I'm plan on running my ram at 240 1:1 w/ 10x multi to get 2.4 and
then try 236 1:1 w/ a 11x multiplier to get 2.6 ...

Which ever one works w/ a default vcore is fine for me..

Considering I have a 3500+ , I'd think the 1.06 bios would be fine. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Regards,
Jose

It depends if you are overclocking.
If you are, use the 1004 hands down.
1002 offers over 1.55vcore.. but are too unstable to even use IMO compared to the 1004 and up.

1006 is great, if you dont OC.. but I cant pull crap out of my chip with 1006 or any 1007s.

I agree! I didn't investigate to try and find out what the differences where, but with the 1006 and 1007's I couldn't boot with my current settings from 1004, I had to drop 250mhz to get it to boot. I just used them long enough to test the 1T limit(slightly worse than 1004) then reflashed to 1004

Guitardaddy,

Per the specs in my sig, are my results typical as far as overclocking goes with 1007.02?

Notice the new RAM...

I heard that running 1:1 ratio with Athlon64 wasnt so important, so the overclock in my sig is what I'm running, totally stable.

Could I get more performance running 1:1, or (God forbid) increase my overclock after setting Vcore up higher? (Housecat, that question is dedicated to you, hehe.)
