New BIOS 1004C for P4S333 at ASUS site

This new BIOS seems to have made the board more stable at higher FSB speeds. Before I could only get my 1.6A up to a 150 FSB, but now it is stable at a 155 FSB speed. You can also now disable the goofy ASUS world graphic logo 🙂. Check it out for all you P4S333 users. ASUS seems to be updating the P4S333 fairly frequently, but the P4B266-C has yet to see a BIOS update. This makes me kind of glad I went with the SIS board. Also, all of us SIS 645 owners need to email SIS and see if they can come up with some type of Pentium 4 SSE2 enhancement for their IDE driver like Intel has. However, I am pretty happy with my current setup.

1.6A @ 2.48 Ghz (1.75 volts) Costa Rica chip
P4S333 at 155 FSB
256 Corsair PC 2400
Ti 200 @ 230 core/515 mem

Isn't the 1004C beta with the "BIN" ext.
and the 1004 Final with the "AWD" - Final available at all Asus sites now.

NO!!! I got the 1004c and it has an extension of awd...

Hey scotty 1.75v is a bit high don't you think....Does it prime95 stress test??? Too many ppl are claiming stable but I think they are not thoroughly testing them....

Sure I can get it to post at 2.52ghz w/140fsb at 1.65v and it would even be stable to get sandra score but doesn' mean it is stable...It failed with an error in about 15 minutes...

Schaweeet! The new bios with the 4:5 memory ratio at fsb over 133 let me go back to 145fsb with memory at 363DDR check out these sandra memory benchmarks, 2700mbps from my pc2700 DDR memory! 😀 2320mhz and 2700mbps memory bandwidth wow!

I had been running 2320mhz with memory at 1:1 at 145 fsb cause there was no other option, at that speed I was getting 2100mbps from the ram at 290mhz DDR, but I got better memory bandwidth at 133 fsb memory 3:5 for 366DDR getting 2400mbps even though I was only get 2133mhz from the cpu.

Now I am back at 2320mhz 145fsb but with the 4:5 ratio I am at 363mhz DDR Thank You Asus 😀

Now lets pray they will give us a 3:4 ratio as well....I have a 1.8a so my hihest stable and safe voltage level is 133 for 2.4ghz but at 4:5 I can only do 333ddr and sandra scores of 2525/2526...At 3:4 I could have 355mhz and that should put me around 2650's...That would be sweet...

3:4 memory above 133fsb would be very nice.
agp and pci control would be nice too 😉

the P4S333 is a great board 😀

how do you update the bios.. the program that comes with the m/b does not have an option to select a different file.. thanks

Yes it does....

Use the asus update file....make sure you scroll up and it is the first item update from file...this ofcourse is for the ppl who already downloaded the file onto their pc....

Or ofcourse you can run the aflash.exe off of a boot disk with the newest bios copied onto it....

yea -
a clean dos boot from a system disk is the best and safest way to flash your bios.
put aflash.exe and the new bios file on the boot disk.

🙂

Yummmmy....

1.6A @ 2500MHz with 150FSB and 4/5 memory divider for DDR @ 187.5MHz.

What DDR can hit 187.5MHz? Can Kingston PC2700 do it?

Scott,

How are you able to run 155FSB with the P4S333? Does it offer the dividers to keep the AGP and PCI bus in spec?
