Free craigslist find. Very retro, um, SD only, great for playing the Wii on, circa 1983ish. Was told the volume control is flaky, so either a can of tuner cleaner or more in depth examination will be needed. Wife asked me where it was going, I told her the garage.
Brings back memories. My aunt had the same exact TV. I remember being fascinated by it when I was young. It's funny how simple the whole thing is. A projecter reflecting on a mirror to a screen. I guess that would be described as a "Front Projection TV". If I remember correctly the picture was pretty decent but any bright light would kill it.
Convergence was waay off, but after a few minutes of tweaking it, it looked reasonably good. We played the wii on it for a few hours, then I shut it down and put it in the garage.
yea go to the manufacturers website and update the firmware through the usb port. latest revision says it brings the color guns up to 2011 standards, with 720p/1080p resolutions now supported.
